HB 1805 by Representative Klick has passed the Public Health Committee with substitute language and will now head to calendars to be assigned a day for a floor vote.

The major takeaway from the bill leaving committee is that there was a substitute placed in committee. That substitute language is now placing a volumetric dose of 10mg in place of a THC Cap. We and other advocacy groups are working with Klick’s office the ensure that there is clarification on what this means. We do not want to give out inaccurate information, especially if the information is complex in how it will work out.

The bill currently still has the chronic pain condition in place and the language that would allow the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) to add conditions as they see fit through a review process.

The chronic pain condition was in previous bills but would wind up being stripped out once it reached the Senate floor for a vote in past session. The same goes for the DSHS stipulation being in previous bills and seeing a similar fate.

Now is the time to contact your representatives and tell them to vote YES when it comes to floor vote on HB 1805.
