Week of 8/28/2022 Cannabis News: FBI says CBD off-limits for applicants, Cannarock coverage, and the DEA backs off psychedelic scheduling proposal

FBI noted online that applicants to join the FBI cannot have consumed cannabis including CBD for at least one year, Cannarock took place at Come and Take it Live in Austin, TX, and the DEA has backed off a proposal to place two psychedelic compounds in the Schedule 1 classification after two groups put up a challenge to the item. Week of 08/20/2022 Cannabis News: US First Circuit Appeals Court rules on residency requirements, Southern Hemp Expo 2022, and DoT proposes examiner guidance on CBD for drivers

This week in review the US First Circuit of Appeals Court has ruled that blocking non-residents from licensing a medical dispensary is unconstitutional, the Southern Hemp Expo took place in Nashville, TN, and the Department of Transportation has proposed guidance for medical examiners that will be medically certifying driver to include language about CBD. Texas Supreme Court upholds smokable hemp ban, strikes down retail ban

In a 5-4 decision the Texas Supreme Court has upheld that the manufacture and processing of smokable hemp is illegal in Texas. The states highest civil court decision was delivered by Justice Boyd. A concurring opinion was filed by Justice Young, and joined by Justice Hecht, Divine, and Blacklock. The decision kept the manufacture and processing part of the smokable hemp the intact. But maintained the injunction in other areas of smokable hemp.
